Fréjus Thoto

Executive Director

Fréjus Thoto is the Executive Director of ACED and an ex-officio member of the Board. He contributes to defining the strategic direction of the organization and coordinates the implementation of activities. Under his leadership, ACED has become a leading organization on several themes related to food and nutrition security in Benin. At the beginning of his career, Fréjus worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a young professional and was also a consultant for the European Union’s Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF/WECARD). He has also worked for the African Capacity Building Foundation, the African Union’s Specialized Agency for Capacity Building. Fréjus allocates part of his free time to DagriVest, a social enterprise that strengthens the employability of young people in the agricultural sector. Fréjus Thoto studied agricultural economics and is currently pursuing a PhD on entrepreneurial dynamics and the role of institutions in the agribusiness sector.
