ACED at the GDN Annual Conference

The Global Development Network (GDN) is holding from June 18th to the 20th 2014, in partnership with other institutions, such as the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the University of Ghana, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) the 15th Annual Global Development Conference in Accra Ghana. This large global event is gathering in Accra a number of specialists on development issues who will focus on “Structural transformation in Africa and beyond”. The conference aims at a better understanding of the nature and prospects of structural transformation in Africa, drawing on the insights from other transformation experiences around the world. 3 sub-themes are identified for the event:

  • Sub-Theme 1: Determinants of growth, industrial and trade policies
  • Sub-Theme 2: Environmental sustainability, management of natural resources and structural transformation
  • Sub-Theme 3: Political, institutional, social and governance transformation

ACED is participating in this worlwide event to discuss its understanding of the challenges facing Africa for its economic transformation. We will mainly present our research on the vulnerability of coastal communities to climate change in Benin that is a big concern for Africa's development.
